LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – First responders have had an extremely busy day in La Follette.  Their usual fast pace has been quickened with five additional runs; four of which are confirmed overdoses and the fifth is undetermined for now if it is overdose related, according to police.

“These all have come during one shift today.  The first call came in just before 8 am and the most recent was at 2:52 pm,” La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack said.

As standard operation, La Follette Police joined LFD in the responses today.  LPD Chief Bill Roehl said, “Of the calls our officers have responded to, the effects of the drug taken have not allowed our investigators the opportunity to interview those persons that did overdose.”

“We believe the drug used at all (scenes) was an opioid. Our investigators are working closely with the Eighth Judicial Task Force and the TBI to find the exact type of drug used and its origin,” according to the LPD.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/10/2020-5PM)

  1. I am sad, concerned and shamed by this news. But not surprised. Unfortunately in our little town, and many others just like it, this is common news now.

  2. INSTEAD OF RUNNING TO DRUGS. MY PRAYER MORE WILL BE RUNNING TO JESUS–THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN HELP THEM–GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES OF THE DECEASED!
