JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Deputy Dakota Williams went to Shawnee Drive, Jacksboro on Nov. 12 about an alleged domestic assault. When he arrived, he spoke with the victim who had gone to a neighbor’s house to use their phone due to Toney Taylor breaking her phone.    The victim told Williams  she and Taylor had been arguing for several days.  When it escalated, he became physical. She alleged  he had thrown her against the refrigerator and began choking her. He then took her to the living room and threw her on the couch. She then tried to go outside.  At this point, Taylor took her phone and threw it on the floor and smashed it. She continued that he made her take two of his Klonopin and go lay on the bed and told her she could not leave until Friday, to which she told him she wanted to leave now. He then allegedly said “I’m not letting you leave, and you get can’t past me.” She told him “You can’t keep me hostage here” and he allegedly said, “Watch me”.

A short time later Taylor told the victim she could leave but she had to take off her coat and her pants. The victim stated that she did not take off her pants but took off her coat and was able to leave the residence and call 911, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Williams went back to Taylor’s residence and noticed he had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He also noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Taylor.  He allegedly told Williams that he and the victim had been arguing all day and that at one point she wanted to leave so he locked all the doors because he said “it was too cold to be outside and she didn’t need to leave.”  Williams asked if Taylor had consumed any alcoholic beverages and he stated a few plus his normal medicines.
