Powers to honor the old coach, Ron Murray, this morning

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Ron Murray played for the legendary John R.W. Brown at the old La Follette High School in downtown La Follette in the 1940s.  In fact, Murray, who went on to his own great coaching career leading the basketball Owls, played on Brown’s very first team.This morning, with many of Murray’s former players plannking to be in attendance, State Representative Dennis Powers will present the old coach with a House Joint Resolution prepared for Coach Ron Murray.

All former players and anyone else who would like to attend is encouraged to attend this morning’s presentation.  The ceremony is set for 9:30 am at the WLAF studio on North 5th Street in La Follette.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/04/2019-6AM)
