LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Downtown La Follette businesses are adjusting accordingly to the refurbishment project of the Central Avenue Bridge that began last week.  Whether you shop downtown La Follette or just drive through on occasion, the lane shifts and sidewalk closure are creating challenges.

For several businesses, shoppers need to enter through the back door to gain entry.  While others have a bit more of a challenge like Pierce Furniture Gallery where they have to get a little creative.

The bridge project has two phases.  The first is expected to run through December or January with Phase II wrapping up in the spring of 2020.   See TDOT’s plan HERE.   (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/23/2019-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
