JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – “I’m just over it” said Mike Copeland referring to his nuisance neighbors at last night’s Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting. Copeland came to last night’s meeting looking for a resolution to his neighbor issue on Water Street.    He alleged the neighbors were loud, created domestic disturbances and leave debris on the sidewalk. He continued that just 10 minutes prior to the meeting the neighbors were outside fighting. Mayor June Forstner told him they would do what they could legally to help resolve the issue.

Frank Wallace with Caryville Jacksboro Utilities Commission presented a plan to alleviate storm water issues on Main Street.  Wallace said with approval work could start in late September.

Bids were recently received for paving projects. Eagle Bluff Road, Mt Perkins Road, School Road and North Street paving will cost $254,496.  The town currently has $75,000 in the budget for paving. After a brief discussion, the board decided to pave North St and School Road, the two projects will cost $41,095.

In personnel matters, Aaron Adkins was hired as full-time police officer at $13.50 an hour, and Jordan Huskey will be going from full time to part-time at $10.25 an hour. The fire department will have two new auxiliary firemen, Joseph Nelson and Joseph Derra.

The street department will be getting a new pressure washer to clean its equipment, the board approved the $899 purchase.

After the meeting had adjourned, a group of citizens began to demand answers about a workshop that was held recently concerning ATV’s in The town of Jacksboro. They wanted to know why the workshop was not publicized.  Forstner said a notice was placed on the front door of the town hall prior to the workshop. No answers were given about the workshop.
