LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – We’ve lost the old Leatherneck with the kind smile.  It was Tuesday when the news of the passing of one of Campbell County’s war heroes began spreading.

Poe Bostic, who was about as American as one can get, was a staple for years at Veterans events from the annual Vet’s Day Parade to the Memorial Day ceremony.  Every May, people could always count on seeing Bostic and his daughters, Kim and Mitzi, near the monuments on the Campbell County Courthouse lawn.

Arrangements for the Korea War Veteran, who also served in the Campbell County Honor Guard, will be announced by Cross-Smith Funeral Home.

Edward “Poe” Bostic was 87-years- old.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/21/2019-6AM)

  1. Thank you for your service Sir, May you RIP. Prayers for his family and all who knew him.

  2. Poe retired from Y-12, years ago I helped him set up meetings for retirees. He was the starting movement for retiree raises and shining a light on the vast medical problems retirees faced. The union took credit for it but it all started with Poe. Good , sweet man, the community will miss him.

  3. Mr. Bostic was such an admirable man. Every single time I would see him out and ask him how he was doing he would always reply “I’m blessed and highly favored”. He indeed was, as we all are. Sad to see him go but I have no doubt where he is. My condolences to the family. He was one of a kind. I’m thankful for his service for our great country and most of all for his service to the Lord.

  4. I really didn’t have the honor of knowing him , but I truly that him for serving our great country. May you rest in the arms of Jesus now
