IVY DELL, TN (WLAF) – An Ohio woman was seriously injured late Saturday night when she was thrown from an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV).     Reports coming in to WLAF are that just before midnight Saturday night, an ATV carrying the woman, a male driver and an 11-year- old girl hit a rock on Flatwoods Road.  The impact sent the ATV RZR off the road and as it flipped over and over, the woman was ejected about 50-feet down the embankment.  Members of the La Follette Rescue Squad were able to retrieve the injured person by using a Stokes Basket.  She was then transported by ground ambulance to the La Follette Medical Center, and she was later flown by a medical helicopter to a Knoxville Hospital.

Members of the La Follette Rescue Squad, the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, the Campbell County Ambulance Service and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department went up Ivy Dell Road to reach the accident scene.  One first responder said the wreck happened on the La Follette side of Walnut Mountain.

The man and girl were not injured.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/06/2019-6AM)
