JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The man who drove off Sunday behind the wheel of a Campbell County Sheriff’s Cruiser awaits a ride back to the Campbell County Jail.

On Saturday, 43-year old Frank Chester Ramsey (TOP PHOTO) of Jellico (Kentucky) was released from the county jail after being arrested last week for disorderly conduct.  Since his release, according to CCSO Chief Deputy Jeremy Goins, Ramsey remained on the premises until he destroyed the window of a marked patrol car and allegedly drove off in that car, a 2011 Crown Victoria.  Goins added,  “The car was parked and scheduled for maintenance when Ramsey gained access and located a spare key inside the car.  However, there were no firearms in the patrol car when it was stolen.”

The Chief said, “Ramsey was taken into custody late Sunday night at Franklin, Tennessee, south of Nashville, and he learned that Ramsey had run out of gas on the side of I-65 in Williamson County.  Goins pointed out that Ramsey was apprehended while sitting in the cruiser.

Goins is waiting for a phone call from Williamson County authorities to go retrieve the patrol car and Ramsey.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/29/2019-3PM)
