CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – One non-human took part in Thursday’s first School Resource Officer (SRO) and School Administration Training Session. Lucia, the dog, (VERY TOP PHOTO) attended the event hosted by the 8th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office at the Pavilion at Cove Lake State Park.Sonni Reagan, Lucia’s handler, (ABOVE) explained that the four-year- old dog has been a service facility dog at the Children’s Center of the Cumberlands serving Scott and Fentress counties for the past three years. She said, “Lucia sits with children who are victims of abuse and even attends court with them.”

8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler said, “The 8th district has three certified facility service dogs; the most in the state.”

Reagan adds, “We’re scheduled to meet with the Campbell County Children’s Center about the possibility of them getting a facility service dog.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/19/2019-6AM)
