WLAF’s Charlie Hutson snapped this “morning after” photo following Friday, June 7’s historic flood at CHET’s Family Services Center in east La Follette.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The heavy rainfall of the evening of Friday, June 7, rose to chest high levels within 30 minutes for residents of CHET’s Family Services Center across from La Follette Middle School.  That’s how quickly lives teetered on surviving or not and how quickly residents lost everything they have.   Community Health Family Services Center lost that facility to the flooding, and the families and individuals displaced by the catastrophic event are still in need of donations.

Here’s is what is needed:

BATHROOM – towels, washcloths and rugs

BEDROOM – sheets, pillow cases, pillows, blankets and clothes hangers

HYGIENE PRODUCTS – shampoo, conditioner, body soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, combs and feminine hygiene products

TOTE BOXES – tote boxes to store client items

KITCHEN SUPPLIES

CLEANING SUPPLIES

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS

All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at one of three locations.  Donation boxes are located at the offices of United Cumberland Bank, State Farm Agent Linda Kilgore and the Community Health Family Services Clinic.  If you have questions, please call 423.562.1156.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/16/2019-6AM)
