LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It’s summer holiday travel time.  Whether you’re driving down the street for a bag of ice or hundreds of miles to Cousin Eddie’s or even to Walley World, Lt. Stacey Heatherly, Sgt. Andrew Clendenen (TOP PHOTO L-R) and everyone else with the Tennessee Highway Patrol urge you to drive safely.Heatherly and Clendenen remind you that the THP will be out in force this 4th of July holiday weekend, and they are asking you to do us all a favor; be smart, buckle up and don’t drink and drive.  The troopers, who paid a visit to WLAF, offer a friendly reminder – if you are caught driving impaired, you will be arrested.  There are no exceptions, and there are no excuses.

Lt. Heatherly said, “Don’t let your 4th of July end in an arrest – or even worse, death.  Make smart decisions.  Don’t drink and drive.”  She adds that “buzzed driving is drunk driving.”

“It’s not worth the risk.  Plan a safe way home before the festivities begin,” said Sgt. Clendenen.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/05/2019-6AM)
