The road at the Victory Cross Roads remains closed so LUB crews can erect poles and hang power line about a mile south of the Victory Church.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “If this had been a county wide storm, utilities would’a been out for weeks,” said veteran LUB operator Brandon Shown (very top photo). Two of three working buckets are in view

From about 11 pm Thursday night until probably sometime Friday evening or Friday night, LUB crews have worked to restore power to more than a thousand customers.  Shown hopes everyone will be back online by this evening.

This power pole was pushed over by a large tree and had to be cut with a torch to make way for its replacement.

The Victory community appears to be the center point of the outages with 1,062, and there was a total of 1,110 (at 1:30 PM).  Downed trees, trees over power line and slides appear to have taken the biggest tolls on power lines, power poles and roads.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/28/2019-2PM)
