Claude Douglas Wilson, age 77 of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 25, 2019.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.  He was a very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family.  Claude loved playing golf, fishing, and being outdoors.  He was a dedicated salesman for Ellison Supply for over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by parents Virgil and Ora (Brantley) Wilson, sisters Katheryn Paul, Susie Wilson, and Wanda Peters, brothers James Donald, Paul, Eugene, and Dennis Wilson.

He is survived by son William Douglas “Dougie” Wilson of LaFollette, Michelle Turpin of Knoxville, previous wife and mother of his children, Rosalind Kitts Sharp, sister Peggy Hornsby, grandchildren Ryan Turpin, Christopher Blackwell, Christina Wilson, great grandchildren Hunter B. Turpin and Blake Marie Turpin.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM Sunday, June 30, 2019 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 7 PM with Rev. Tim Russell and O.D. Hill officiating.  Friends and family will meet 10:15 AM Monday, July 1, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for the 11 AM interment.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Wilson’s passing, he was a wonderful man I God. He loved his family very much. I feel blessed to have known him. Prayers for Doug for comfort and strength. Prayers for all of the ft.🙏🏻💜
