LAFOLLETTE, TN., (WLAF)-  On Monday morning Campbell County Sheriff Deputy Justin Crabtree went to Moody Lane about a man passed out behind the wheel of a running automobile. When Crabtree arrived, he found James Mallon Ausmus asleep behind the wheel, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Crabtree woke Ausmus up and ask him where he was going. The man allegedly replied, “a trip around the world.” Crabtree noticed his eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and a strong smell of alcohol was coming from him.
When asked by police if he had drank anything Ausmus came clean allegedly telling police “a whole truck load.” After a series of field sobriety tests, Ausmus, 54, 129 Leaf Tree Drive, Speedwell was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), violation implied consent law, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
