“The caller was screaming, and it was not easy to understand everything she was saying” is what one dispatcher with the E-911 Center told WLAF.     A body was found on a houseboat not long after 10:30 pm Tuesday night, according to officials, near Powell Valley Marina on Norris Lake.

Campbell County Sheriff Robbie K. Goins details that at 10:49 pm Tuesday night is when deputies responded to Powell Valley Marina in reference to a death investigation.  The sheriff said the body was identified as that of 41-year old Jefferson “Jeff” Hassler of La Follette.

Investigators have been speaking with family members and are awaiting autopsy results to learn the cause of death.  Goins said more information on the case will be released as it becomes available.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/17/2019-NOON)
