Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Crabtree was a step too fast for Patrick Matlock.    Last Saturday, Crabtree was dispatched to a home on College Hill Road in reference to a subject removal.  According to records, as Crabtree walked up the driveway to the home, Matlock slammed the door shut.  When the deputy made it to the door, he heard a woman scream.  She told Crabtree that Matlock was headed out the back window of the house.

The deputy ran out of the house and around to the back where he saw Matlock jump out of the window and run down the hill.  Matlock would not comply with Crabtree’s orders prompting the deputy to chase down Matlock and use force to apprehend him, based on the report.

Crabtree found what he believed was pot along with yellow pills on Matlock.

The 36-year old Matlock, of West Hill Street in La Follette,  was booked into the Campbell County Jail for the 24th time.  He faces multiple charges including evading arrest, resisting arrest and possession of controlled substances.  Matlock has a $12,000 bond and has a March 12 court date set.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/06/2019-6AM)
