The Town of Caryville started 2019 off on a positive note.  Watch the meeting HERE.

Denise Davis with Ingram, Overholt and Bean, P.C. attended Monday night’s board meeting. Davis presented the board with the 2017 audit findings. She summarized the report by saying the town had another good year.

Aldermen Beth Lawson announced the Christmas Light Contest Winners.  They are first place, Martha Tackett, second place, Brenda Goins and third place, Jason and Brittany Tackett. Lawson said prize checks would be mailed.

The street department wants to trade a salt spreader they have for a tractor the Town of Jacksboro has in its surplus equipment. The town will need an exchange agreement to make the equipment trade.

A new area was acquired recently for a park. The area is next to the old Caryville School property across from Shoney’s. Aldermen Vickie Heatherly updated the board of the progress with funding of the park. Heatherly said that she has been able to get the Friends of Cove Lake to partner with the town on the project, but the search for funding of the project continues.

The town has been working for the past few months on a new website. Aldermen Patrick Pebley announced at last night’s meeting the website TownofCaryvilleTN.com should be up and running on Tuesday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/15/2019 – 6AM)
