James A. (Jim) Wallace, age 89, of LaFollette passed away December 17, 2018.

He was a member of LaFollette Church of Christ. He was a graduate of LaFollette High School in 1948. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1947 and went on to join the U.S. Navy where he served from 1948 to 1952 aboard the USS Jason AR8 during the Korean Conflict. He retired from X-10 after “42 years 10 months and 29 days” as an electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 760 for 65 years.  He was a Master Mason and belonged to the Campbell County Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Directors Staff at Kerbela Temple of Knoxville. He was lovingly referred to as a 1929 model by his family. He loved reading, yard work, gardening, and working with his favorite mechanic and best buddy, Mike Goins, in his garage.

Preceded in death by parents, Jake and Susie Wallace; sister, June Wallace Seal; grandson, Keith Phillips; son-in-law, Ricky Phillips.

Services 7 PM Thursday at Cross-Smith Chapel

Family and friends will meet at Cross-Smith Funeral Home at 11:30 AM and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 12 Noon Interment
