It’ll be a quiet night around Campbell County come tomorrow evening, Halloween 2018.  Because Halloween was observed last Saturday night county-wide.   The usual door-to-door goblins were out, in particular in the Wier Woods neighborhood, but the balance of the treat seekers attended area trunk or treat events.  CLICK HERE to see more Charlie Hutson photos.

The City of La Follette hosted its 15th annual trunk or treat in the main downtown parking lot while the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, the Town of Jacksboro and the Court House hosted a trunk or treat at the CCSD parking lot and the Town of Caryville hosted its annual fun night at the ball field in front of Scottie’s Restaurant.  A few churches also hosted trunk or treats.

La Follette City Administrator Jimmy Jeffries tells WLAF, “We had another wildly successful trunk or treat.  At one point, youngsters were lined up across the parking lot, down Beech Street to the fire department and back up the road behind City Hall to the dumpsters.”  He adds that there were so many kids coming by for candy that they had to buy more candy during the event.  Jeffries expressed appreciation to “all of our local churches and businesses participating and Faith Promise Church.”  FPC set up the carnival with all the blowups, popcorn, apple cider and much more.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/30/2018-6AM – PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
