In a release from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department:   On October 18, 2018, 17-year old Mackenzie Baird was reported missing from her home on Meredith Road in La Follette.  Investigators and deputies with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department began searching for Mackenzie and received a tip that she was at a friend’s home in the Cherry Bottom area of Campbell County. Before deputies arrived, Mackenzie ran on foot according to her friends avoiding deputies. Investigators attempted to locate Mackenzie by interviewing family, friends, and utilizing her cell phone, but it was purposely disabled. On October 22, 2018, deputies received information of her possible whereabouts, plain clothes deputies arrived in the area of Eagle Bluff Road in Jacksboro where they located Mackenzie Baird.  She was placed into custody as a runaway juvenile.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/23/2018-3AM)
