The defending state football champs outpaced their visitors on Friday evening at Gibson Field.The Jacksboro Eagles defeated the La Follette Owls by a tally of 42 to 6 to remain undefeated on the 2018 season.  Entering the game, the Eagles Will Lester (TOP PHOTO) needed 322 rushing yards to hit the one-thousand yard mark, and by game’s end, Number 43 had more than half the yards needed to reach the milestone.  He finished with 171 yards and now only needs 151 more which will likely come during the post season.

Lester will join his father, Brent, as the only father-son one-thousand yard rushers for the Jacksboro Eagles since the record began being kept in 1983.  Other one-thousand-yarders are C.J. Allen, Daniel Berry, Davey Gillum, Randy Heatherly, Chris Johnson, Brent Lester, Bobby Meredith, Gary Metcalf (the first 1,000 yard runner), Ethan Simpson, J.J. Sipos, J.R.
