Campbell County could be without two very important players tonight in its region game at Powell.    Team leader Preston Bowman, wide receiver and defensive back, will miss another game as he recovers from injury while injured quarterback Landon Addington (see separate story) may or may not play.  “Bowman is missed by his teammates and will be back very soon,” said Cougar Head Coach Justin Price.

Price explains that Powell runs a two-quarterback system and will take some shots as it will try to stretch the field vertically.  He calls stopping the Panthers on third down the key, because Powell has been very efficient on third downs.  “We need to get Powell off the field on those big third downs,” Price said.

Price prepares his teams to aim for being 1 and oh each week.  However, he admits that region games just mean more.

The Cougar offense goes up against a Powell team that is very athletic in its secondary all the while being very aggressive in the box.  That’s not all.  Powell’s two inside linebackers like to blitz and get after it.  Coach Price adds, given that, that the Cougars offensive line is using its sub-par performance against Gibbs as motivation to play better tonight knowing it must dominate the line.

Powell is 5 & 1 in all games with its only loss coming to Fulton; 21-10.  The Panthers are 2 & 0 in the region with wins over Karns and Clinton.  Campbell is 2 & 3 with an 0 and 1 mark in the region.
