One deputy treated and released from the La Follette Medical Center

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Sheriff’s deputies searched for a run-a-way juvenile on Thursday and later located him at a residence up a gravel drive off Ivey Hollow Road outside La Follette. The juvenile was found along with two adult males.

Dalton Clear and John Garner were identified as the two adult males with the juvenile, and the adults were placed under arrest.

While the adults were being transported to jail, Clear became belligerent by kicking the patrol car windows and headbutting the cage. As deputies were on their way with the adults to the jail, they requested assistance from La Follette Police as a result of Clear’s aggressive behavior, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Two deputies were assaulted during the incident. One deputy sustained a laceration to the head and was treated and released from the La Follette Medical Center.

Clear complained of head pain and was transported to the La Follette Medical Center for evaluation and was later released to deputies.

Clear and Garner remain housed this morning in the Campbell County Jail.

Dalton Clear

Dalton Clear, age 22, of 485 Ivey Hollow Road-La Follette was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, two counts of assault on an officer, aggravated assault on an officer, and four counts of vandalism. Clear’s bond is set at $100,000.

John Garner

John Garner, age 57, of 485 Ivey Hollow Road-La Follette was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and harboring a run-a-way juvenile. A bond of $20,00 is available to Garner.

The juvenile was transported to the Scott County Juvenile Center as Clear and Garner await a date in court on Tuesday, July 22.
