The basketball season opens tonight at Brown Gym when the Cougars host William Blount

Gavin Cox spent Monday’s practice with ice on his right ankle after turning it during Saturday’s scrimmage. “I’m gonna play tonight. The trainer (Rachel Kosemko) is going to test my ankle Tuesday afternoon, but I’m gonna play,” said Cox. He’ll being wearing his traditional “man bun” tonight and this season.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “This group is hungry. They’re determined to win this year,” said Campbell Head Basketball Coach Ernie Mac Clawson when talking about his boys varsity basketball team.

“I’m excited to see what we can do tonight,” said Clawson as practice was about to begin on Monday.

Expect a starting line-up of Will Croley at the point with Jake Hatmaker as the shooting guard, the number two spot. Luke Browning will be at the three, a forward, with Gavin Owens and Gavin Cox in the post, Owens, the four, Cox, the five. If by some chance Cox does not play, Owens will slide over to the the five, and Keegan Nelson will start at the four position.

Tip time is 7:30pm in this home Hall of Fame game between William Blount of District 4 and Campbell representing District 3.
