LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The fun of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 The 70s trips back to August 4, 1979, Saturday at 7 pm over WLAF radio. The three hours of memories are brought to you by Maynard’s Auto Parts and State Representative Dennis Powers.
Donna Summer was the hottest artist on the charts on this long ago year. Bad Girls is just one of her songs you’ll hear on this weekend’s countdown. Goodbye Stranger was Super Tramps current hit. John Stewart was back on the charts with a solo hit called Gold, and Let’s Go was the Cars first hit. In addition to these songs, you’ll hear the nation’s other top 36 songs over WLAF just like they all played here on the old radio station in 1979.
