LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- LaFollette Police Sergeant Jesse Ferguson was recently on patrol when he saw a 2001 silver Lincoln Town Car traveling eastbound on the four-lane with non-working tag lights.
On July 21, Ferguson stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as Jeffrey Keith Criswell who was unable to provide a driver’s license. According to a report from the LaFollette Police Department Criswell was acting very nervous and fidgeting with different items in his hands and kept attempting to reach under the driver’s seat.
Patrolman Gambrel, Patrolman Aaron Sexton, Patrolman Austin Tindell, and Lieutenant Shane Tielman were also on the scene to assist in the search of the vehicle. Found in a black bag was a silver eyeglasses case that contained a glass pipe likely used for smoking narcotics, and next to it was a crystal-like substance.
Criswell, 64, 48 Morrison Avenue, Monticello, Kentucky, was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, violation light law and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/01/2024-6AM)
