LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Last week, Narcotics Detective-Sergeant Noah Riggs with the LaFollette Police saw a vehicle traveling north on Lakeshore Road and noticed when it approached the intersection of Loop Road, it did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.
Det.-Sgt. Riggs made a traffic stop on the vehicle on South Avenue at Rose Hill. When Riggs stopped the vehicle, he noticed the driver of the car, identified as Kristy Sue Adkins, moving around in the vehicle. Riggs found out through dispatch that Adkins driver’s license was revoked. She also could not provide proof of insurance.
Adkins gave Officer Riggs permission to search the vehicle. Inside the car, in the center console, between the front seats where Adkins and her passenger Samantha Jo Dixon had been was a tied baggie. The baggie contained a crystal-like substance believed to be Meth with an approximate weight of 4.2 grams.
Adkins and Dixon were read their Miranda Rights, and they allegedly stated that they understood their rights. Adkins and Dixon stated that the crystal-like substance did not belong to them.
Adkins, 41, 115 Lakeshore Lane was charged with traffic control device, violation of Tennessee financial law, driving on revoked due to DUI and mfg/del/sell schedule II controlled substance.
Dixon, 34, 433 Linden Circle, LaFollette was charged with mfg/del/sell schedule II controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/27/2024-6AM)
