LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- It may have taken over two months to arrest Jacob Micheal Lunsford but his alleged crimes caught up to him last week.

Lunsford was arrested at his mother’s house after police noticed the car he damaged while allegedly burglarizing a home in the Davis Chapel community in April.

His accomplice, Edna Renee Collins, told police the two had gone into the home so they could “steal some items to make some money to get high.” She named Lundsford as her co-conspirator after she was arrested on outstanding warrant, the report said.

The two thought the home was empty, according to Collins.

After breaking a window to get in the home, Lunsford and Collins allegedly stole over $2,300 in items. As they left the home, Lunsford crashed his 2017 Honda into the home’s garage door, according to the report.

Following her arrest, Collins’ home was searched where police allegedly found several of the stolen items including mail addressed to the victim.

When police spotted the wrecked Honda last week, they also found Lundsford.

Along with a stolen laptop allegedly belonging to the Campbell County Government, Lundsford was also in possession of several drugs. Among them were psylocibin, commonly referred to as mushrooms, and a suboxone strip.

Lundsford allegedly told the police he often has memory gaps while he is under the influence.

He is charged with aggravated burglary, vandalism over $1,000, manufacture, sell, delivery of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and tampering with or fabricating evidence.
