LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Road Department couldn’t have had better weather to build the bypass at the CSX railroad bridge at Ivydale.

Work gets underway as a couple sections of guard rail were removed to make way for the new roadway.
Early Wednesday morning, Road Superintendent Ron Dilbeck’s road crew was on scene with all the equipment needed to make quick work out of this bypass project.

Next, the new roadbed was cleared and put on grade to join the existing roadway.

The crews begins to haul in and dump the larger rock for the base with smaller rock to follow for the top layer.

The back hoe operator works down the larger rock between the two columns where the new bypass will be.

The new bypass is between the next two columns over from the section of the bridge decking that will be removed and replaced.
