Circa 1962 of the Methodist Church

This church was built after the fire that destroyed M.E. Church, South on Nevada Avenue in 1913. Construction started on this church about 1914. You can see in the image construction is still underway. The church was located on the corner of East Central Avenue and First Street. Today the location is Freeman Corner.

The church moved to its new location in 1965, across from the then Lafollette Community Hospital.

The old church was razed by the city in the 1970s. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/16/2023-6AM)
