JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Thursday was walk-through day (top photo) for the Cougars, and as Coach Taylor Ownbey says, "the hay's in the barn for this one". The "this one" is tonight's Region 2 5-A match-up with the West Rebels at Knoxville on Bill Wilson Field.
The Cougars kick-off with the Rebs on the field named after their legendary coach.
The 2026 football season hits its midway point with game five tonight at Bill Wilson Field when 0 & 4 Campbell visits 1 & 3 West. Though both teams are still looking for a Region 2 5-A win, don't let the records mislead you. Central came from behind to beat West while Campbell has had its share of bright spots and missed opportunities in a season that's shown dramatic improvement from a year ago.
Campbell hits the road for this fifth game of the 2026 season at West in a 7:00 pm kick-off, 6:30pm air time on WLAF) with the Rebels. WLAF’s coverage team of Matthew Moore (producer), Aaron Hopkins (camera), Derick Marlow (director), Les Martin (play-by-play) and Brent Allen (color) along with former Cougar Jake Miller (sideline) send you the coverage of Cougar Football in the 52nd season over the WLAF-Doyle’s Tire Sports Network which spans ten WLAF media platforms.
