NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee called a special session regarding the Education Freedom Act (school vouchers). The session began on Monday and continues this afternoon. State Rep. Dennis Powers is sharing an update.
The Education Freedom Act is up for a vote in the state legislature possibly this week. "We are getting a lot of calls and emails regarding the education bill that is currently being considered," said the veteran State Representative.
Here is some updated information surrounding the Education Freedom Act. "I hope everyone will read it and know that we are trying to give parents choices about their child's education while protecting our public schools," said Powers. When asked if he is planning to vote for the voucher bill, Powers said "yes."
