LaFollette Library hosting draw and color contest; no late fees.

(WLAF)  – Despite restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many public libraries, including the LaFollette Public Library, continue to serve their communities and in partnership with the Tennessee State Library and Archives, are offering several online resources for learning at home, research and entertainment.

Athletic Committee to meet. CCHS basketball coach not on agenda.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) - The Campbell County Board of Education's Athletic Committee meets this afternoon at 5pm via Zoom; a first for a Campbell County public meeting.  However, the topic of the search for a new boys basketball coach at Campbell County High School is not on today's agenda.

Power outages, trees down as storm quickly comes and goes

A La Follette home suffered damage when a tree landed on it around 2 am Thursday morning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - Around 2 am Thursday morning, the predicted storm featuring winds of 60 MPH and higher blew through Campbell County.


Sweethearts part though the memories live on

Frank and Yvonne Shaw were high school sweethearts back in the day at Williamsburg High.  Their love story took a sad turn when Yvonne passed away over the weekend.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “She was the second and last girl I ever dated,” said a broken hearted Frank Shaw.  This past weekend he lost Yvonne, his sweetheart and wife of 51 years.  WATCH Yvonne's ceremony HERE.

Car wrecks into apartment

One person was injured in a Wednesday afternoon wreck that was called in to police at 1:26 pm.

Funds are coming to CHET and other local health centers

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF)- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded funds to four Tennessee health centers in Senate District 12.  The funds were awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of the U.S. response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
