‘I’m overwhelmed with the loss of Cowboy’ – JPD Chief Jeremy Goins

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The sad news of K-9 Cowboy’s passing hit hard Tuesday night.  Not only did his handler Jacksboro Chief of Police Jeremy Goins lose his beloved black Labrador Retriever, Campbell County and the United States lost a decorated officer as well.  Although it’s Chief Goins who is feeling the emotional brunt of the loss, others can relate, in particular Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins who was also very close to Cowboy.

Recessed county commission meeting is recessed - again

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) - The Campbell County Commission recessed its regular February meeting from last Monday until this week in order to resolve a necessary spending resolution to reopen the county’s animal shelter. Then they were forced to recess again in order to review what is possibly a better offer.

Jellico hosts North Greene Saturday night

Early voting wraps up; next Tuesday is Super Tuesday

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) - After Tuesday's last day of early voting where 188 votes were cast, the final early voting numbers total 886, which includes mail-ins and nursing home voters, in Tennessee's Presidential Primary.  All polls will be open across Campbell County for Super Tuesday, March 3.

Tennessee Supreme Court declines to hear big pharma appeal on I-75 corridor opioid suit
