LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – WLAF’s Charlie Hutson’s been keeping a camera on the progress of the Central Avenue Bridge refurbishment project.  “Just kinda waiting on the weather to get better to make the traffic pattern change to the east bound side. Notice the trailer and other equipment is gone,” Hutson said.

Southern Constructors’ (SCI) Charlie Bowling, who heads up the refurbishment project, said, “We can’t switch the lanes in the rain.  So once the weather allows, we’ll open the south side of the bridge.”

The project that began last September could be finished as early as May one official said.

The bridge turns 100-years- old next year.
