JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields offers details about assigned work for students this morning.  The director notes that information is still very limited, and she hopes to learn more from the Tennessee Department of Education after Tuesday.  At which time, Fields will provide further updates.

Dear Parents and Students,

With the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, many changes have taken place and our daily routine looks much different than usual.  The most important focus currently is for our families to take care of themselves, practice social distancing, and follow the recommended guidelines of the CDC and local health officials.  Please know that your well-being is the main concern of the Campbell County School System.

We understand that as parents and guardians you have questions about continued learning during the extended closure.  Not all students have internet access and we do not have the capabilities to offer online instruction for ALL students, therefore, we must follow federal guidelines concerning distance-learning.  We cannot require assignments of students because not ALL students have equal access to internet services.  Several of our teachers have created online activities and resources that students can participate in if that is what they choose to do, and this is voluntary for both teachers and students.  There is a list of resources available to parents and students on the Campbell County Schools website at www.campbell.k12.tn.us.  You can also visit www.tn.gov and search Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19), for a list of several resources released by the Tennessee Department of Education.

At this time, we are scheduled to return to school on Wednesday, April 1, however we are closely monitoring the health situation with COVID-19 and this return date may change if necessary.  You will be provided a detailed update as soon as information is available.

The School Nutrition Department will continue to serve meals while we are on spring break.  You may continue to receive drive-thru meals from 10:00-11:30 at the following locations:

Campbell County High School

Jellico Elementary

LaFollette Middle School

White Oak Elementary

Meals will also be available at:

Walmart Parking Lot –    9:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.

Dewey Hunter Center – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
