The restaurant suffered damage from a Saturday night wreck.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Local restaurant El Pueblito’s  was damaged in a DUI related accident which occurred Saturday night. The accident led to the arrest of 48- year- old Kristie Simpson of Caryville on driving under the influence charges. According to the LaFollette Police, the incident call came in around 10:05 pm Saturday.  When officers arrived at the restaurant, they saw the building was damaged and followed pieces of brick, mortar and cactus “leading down the parking lot back behind the mall.”  At that point, officers found a gray Cadillac with damage to the rear end, as well as brick, mortar and cactus on the damaged part of the car.

The restaurant was able to open for business on Sunday.

Officers located Simpson inside the Back Door Bar.  According to the police report, she was unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. She allegedly  said she “had drunk a pint of vodka and did not know what had happened to her car.”  Officers attempted to give Simpson a sobriety test, to which she performed poorly. Officers then gave her a breathalyzer test. Afterwards she was charged with DUI and transported to the Campbell County Jail. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/09/2020-6AM)
