JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Today is Baby Jack Price’s birthday, and what a first year of life it has been.  Before he was six-months old, he’d been diagnosed with cancer.  Within minutes of the shocking news, a community, and soon a region, rallied around him.  Since August, he’s been battling and winning against leukemia.  Though Jack is in remission, the fight continues, as Jack and his family remain upbeat.

He and his family celebrate today at his home away from home, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.  That’s where he’s been a patient since his diagnosis last summer.

“Jack has gone through four phases of treatment with great results. We are thankful that he still is in remission and the Lord has protected him from countless side effects,” said Justin and Traci Price, Jack’s mom and dad.  His dad Justin is the head football coach at Campbell County High School, and he and his family learned of the cancer news the week before the first regular season game.

The staff at Sandy’s Custom Auto at Jacksboro created this decal that folks around the region used to show their support of Jack.

Mom and Dad Price add, “We will continue to trust in God and His faithfulness as the next phases continue. As of today, he has a few more weeks of in-patient treatment and then will transition into an out-patient maintenance phase. He will receive oral chemo at home and check in with his doctor every two weeks in the beginning. We have been blessed with a great experience at Children’s Hospital, but we are excited to have Jack home soon! To God Be The Glory!”

Happy Birthday, Jack.  And many more…
