LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A seemingly light agenda is ahead for the mayor and council for the City of La Follette this afternoon at the 5:30 pm meeting to be held at City Hall.   However, the last two City meetings, workshop and planning commission, were dominated by talk of a proposed homeless day center that is planned in a building at the corner of Central and Indiana Avenues.

The agenda lists topics of a resolution, an ordinance, accepting the year-end audit and appointing Jim Rogers to the E-911 Board.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/03/2020-6AM)

  1. When I addressed the city council at tonight’s meeting as to why it was announced on WLAF post that a resolution and ordinance would be discussed they repeatedly stated I was mistaken.i read straight from my phone and they still stated it was wrong. A Lady handed me a addenda it was a resolution on a previous subject addressed only by dates and a ordinance again by date and something to do with alcohol involved? I do not know but think maybe the ordinance involved this? With only numbers or dates I can understand the confusion. I apologize to everyone involved for my issue with this. The warming center is a very important issue to me and I along with the staff and volunteers want to do everything we can to make this work . We want it to be something our community can be proud of and not ashamed of. The TVCH covers several counties and we are the only one with a center like this. It was a success at the Presbyterian Church and we are anxious to get it up and running at full scale again. Hopefully it will not only be successful here in Campbell but a model for other counties and states as well.
