LFD Firefighters made quick work of a kitchen fire on Friday afternoon at a home at the top of South Tennessee Avenue.
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A small stove fire triggered a smoke detector which was heard by a neighbor who called 911, and La Follette Firefighters did the rest.
Around 4:15 pm Friday afternoon is when a person was away from their Woodland Estates home and their stove caught fire. However, the smoke detector alerted the neighbor in the next door apartment to call for help.
A small fire did not become a large fire because of quick action.
LFD Fire Chief Jimmy Pack said, “The neighbor saved the day. That’s the life and property saving advantage of having a working smoke detector along with a quick thinking neighbor.”
A medical emergency call came in during the fire call. One unit was sent to a West La Follette home. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/28/2020-5PM)
