LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On Saturday night, Campbell County Deputy John Minor answered a call about stolen weapon from a home.   After Minor left the home, he turned onto Old Middlesboro Highway and saw a black Toyota Tacoma driven by Brendon Alexander Klingensmith. When Minor turned around the truck sped up and blacked out.  CCSO Sgt Mike Owens located the vehicle on Farris Circle shortly after Minor lost sight of it. Minor made contact with Klingensmith who appeared unsteady on his feet and had blood shot glassy eyes. When asked if he had taken any illegal substance, he allegedly said he had smoked marijuana and was pretty high at the moment, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Klingensmith, 27, 1114 Old Middlesboro Hwy, LaFollette is charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving while revoked, aggravated burglary, theft of property under $999.99 and possession of schedule VI-controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/13/2020-6AM)
