LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- The LaFollette Police recently arrested a violent sex offender for failing to register.

Clint Enlo Malicoat, 52, was arrested on Feb. 9 for violation of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.  Malicoat was arrested at a local gas station by Sgt. Monty Miller after Miller recognized him for having outstanding warrants issued by the county, according to the LaFollette Police Department,
Malicoat has been listed as a violent offender on the Tennessee Sex Offender registry since Feb. 2013. He has no address and was listed as homeless on the arrest intake records. Under state law, homeless offenders are required to check in monthly and in March 2019 and Dec. 2019, Malicoat failed to report to his registering parole agent at the Tennessee Department of Correction.
He was charged with two counts of violation of the sex offender registry and one count of violation of community supervision for life. In 2013, Malicoat was sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by community supervision for life for attempted rape of a child. According to the arrest warrants issued by Campbell County, Malicoat signed his community supervision for life certificate upon his release from prison on Sept. 20, 2017. He violated this lifetime supervision in March 2019, and in Dec. 2019 when he failed to register in a timely manner.

Malicoat is currently being held at the county jail on a $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Campbell County General Sessions Court on Feb. 13 at 9 am. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED- 2/12/2020- 6AM)
