JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – As of today, Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins has a new chief deputy.  Lt. Matt Wasson takes over for Jeremy Goins who was appointed to Chief of Jacksboro Police earlier this month. The promotion came this morning for the 13-year law enforcement veteran, all with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.  Wasson’s previous posts have been an over the road lieutenant and a School Resource Officer (SRO).

The new chief is a 2004 graduate of Campbell County High School.  Chief Deputy Wasson said, “It’s going to be good.  I look forward to this.”

Sheriff Robbie Goins said, “Matt has been with us several years and worked his way up starting in corrections.  I have 100% confidence in him in our future together.”  The sheriff added, ” Matt’s a good family man and works well with the people at our department.”  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/27/2020-12:30PM)
