Carl Lewis Monday, age 88 of LaFollette passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020. He was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, ginseng, and pretty much anything outdoors. Carl retired from Ford Motors and Lincoln Brass.

He is preceded in death by parents: James and Florida (Leach) Monday, son: Marvin Monday, 25 brothers and/or sisters.

He is survived by wife of 65 years, Mary Atlas (Carroll) Monday of LaFollette, son: Steve Monday & wife Jackie of Bell Buckle, TN., daughters: Carlene Parker & husband Stan of Merritt Island, Florida, Diane Bailey of LaFollette, Debbie Pietszak & husband Robert of Erie, Michigan, Danna Cleveland & husband Jim of Athens, Georgia, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Long Hollow Baptist Church followed by funeral service at 7 PM with Rev. Matt Howard, Rev. Jared Meredith, and Rev. Johnny Vanover officiating.  Friends and family will meet 11 AM Friday, January 24th at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in procession to Monday Cemetery in Speedwell for 12 PM internment.
