LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Red Roof Market tobacco store at Central and Indiana was robbed at gun point shortly after closing last night.

According to LaFollette Police Detective Charles Duff, the robbery occurred around 12:15 a.m., Thursday just minutes after the store had closed for the day and locked its doors to finish closing duties.

“A male wearing what appeared to be a ski mask, threw a concrete block through the window to gain entry.  He had a hand gun and demanded money,” Detective Duff said. The unknown male then left with an “undisclosed” amount of money. He did not steal any tobacco products or merchandise. According to Duff, the whole robbery took less than a minute.

Police are unsure if the male left on foot or in a vehicle. According to Duff, no one was injured and no other property damage was done to the business other than the broken glass.

Police are investigating the robbery and anyone with any information or details is urged to call 423-562-8331. Callers can remain anonymous. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED- 01/16/2020-2:30PM)
