JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Water issues could soon be resolved for residents in the Mt. Perkins subdivision.    Frank Wallace with Caryville Jacksboro Utilities presented two site plans at last night’s Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting. Wallace detailed the issues of the mountain water run-off and ways the storm water program will be working to resolve the issues, including replacing a culvert. He told the board “We have been working to clean out the existing 24-inch culvert and have removed a dump truck load of debris.  The water was bypassing the culvert creating issues”.  Wallace told the board that work on the project could begin as early as May. Some of the work can only be done between July and October since it is deemed the dry season. The board agreed with proceeding with the plan.

Mayor June Forstner gave an update on the town’s brush truck. “We are still working on repairing our truck.  The needed parts have been delayed. The county and the City of LaFollette have let us (the town) use their trucks, and we are very appreciative,” the mayor said.

In the final business of the evening, the board voted to move the regular monthly meeting time from 7 pm to 6 pm on a temporary basis. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/03/2020-6AM)
