LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Logan Hickman has announced his retirement as Executive Vice President at Peoples Bank of the South. He has been with the bank for the last 17 years.  Prior to that, he was in the military for 22 years.

Hickman came to work for his father-in-law at the bank after he retired from the service. He has a finance degree from the University of Tennessee and his own father had “been in banking for 50 years” so the job was a “good fit.”   He also said he enjoyed working at a bank that had history in the area. “My wife’s grandfather David Reynolds co-founded the bank in 1917; my father-in-law John Reynolds has been with the bank since 1953,” Hickman said.

Hickman said it has been “great to get to know the community and to be active in it.” Over the years he has been active in multiple community outreach programs and events through his church, Rotary Club, Boy Scouts, as well as the Campbell County High School Relief Fund and scholarship programs.

He said he wanted to thank everyone for not only their support at the bank, but also for their support with his many volunteer activities.  He said he was looking forward to retirement.

“It’s been wonderful to be here and it’s been a great place to raise my kids,” Hickman said.  He is originally from Columbia, TN; his wife is from Campbell County. The two plan to stay in the area and the only retirement plans he has made so far is a trip to Florida to see the UT Volunteers play football.

From all of us here at WLAF, we wish you the best in retirement, Logan.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/31/2019-6AM)

  1. Congratulations, Logan. You have been such an asset to the Campbell County area and I know your good work will continue. You will be missed at the bank. You have had two outstanding careers so far — anxious to see what comes next. It will be good whatever it is.
