LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Ahh Spa has the perfect holiday specials to pamper yourself or your loved ones this Christmas season. Located in downtown LaFollette, the full line spa has something for everyone and at affordable prices.

Christmas specials include:* Christmas Treat: 30 minute Express Facial and a 30 minute Express Massage for $70* Christmas Bliss: 1 hour facial and a 1 hour massage for $100* Winter Wonderland: 1 hour facial, 1 hour massage and a 1 hour saltwater float for $145.

Owner Gayle Cook has put her heart and soul into the business to make it a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for all to enjoy. Ahh Spa opened in February of 2019 with tanning, massage and yoga classes. Other services now offered include facials, vibration plate therapy, a salt water float pod and more.

Cook, who had previously been a life coach in Arizona, said she ended up moving back to the area to help take care of her dad after her mom had passed away.  “Once out here, I realized I missed it,” Cook said, explaining she knew she wanted to stay, but she didn’t know that she was going to do. One day, while on Facebook marketplace she came across Marvin Seibers selling tanning beds. Cook and Seibers had gone to Wynn-Habersham School together. “I called him up and said is this the Marvin Seibers I know and he said ‘I think so,'”  That was the beginning of her business, which has grown into a multi-faceted full line spa.  She hired Seiber’s company, Seibers Custom Drywall to convert the 7,200 square foot area into a spa. Cook drew out the plans and Seibers built the rooms. “God just put the right people in the right place at the right time,” Cook said.   Her business soon became “all about health and wellness and the rejuvenation of the mind, body and spirit.”

Cook, who suffers from fibromyalgia, said she began bringing in items that helped with her pain. “All the services we offer, those were things that improved my quality of life, and I thought people can really use this, there’s a need for this here,” Cook said. That has become her favorite part of the business she said, “watching the quality of people’s lives improve.”  “It’s been wonderful to watch a community grow within a community; people come in and meet other people and become a support system for each other,” Cook explained.

Ahh Spa is one of the few spas around to offer a salt water float pod. The unique pod has multiple health benefits, including a reduction in pain, stress and anxiety as well as improved sleep.

She said she has tried to keep services affordable and to make it so her business has something everyone can afford. The deep tissue Shiatsu massage chair cost $1 per minute, and the sauna will cost the same.  “So you could come in with $5 or $10 and still pamper yourself or your loved one,” Cook said. Even if you don’t have much time, customers can pop in for five or 10 minutes in the massage chair and “reset” their day.  Ahh Spa also sells gift cards starting at $5 and up. The first yoga class is free, as is the first tanning session. “We want people to come try it and see if they like it.” She even offers a $25 a month package that includes unlimited time on the vibration plates, the Shiatsu massage chair, the inversion table and the treadmill. All of these machines have health benefits.  “We want people to know thttps://ahhspallc.com/here are alternatives to being in pain,” Cook said.

She said locating her spa in downtown LaFollette was an important choice for her.  “When I was growing up, downtown LaFollette was where you came for everything and I wanted to help bring that back; I wanted to help revitalize the downtown area and bring new life.”   She said she wants everyone who comes in to the spa to feel at home. “Everyone who comes in here becomes like family to us; we want the best for our customers.”
