John C. (Jack) Wallace III died peacefully of natural causes at his home on December 6th. At his request, no services are planned. Jack was a friend and inspiration to all!
Jack was born in 1926 in New Castle Pennsylvania to Dr. William Davies Wallace and Faye Whipp Wallace. He had one brother, Dr. William Wallace of Washington D.C.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then graduated from Penn State University and owned a successful farm management and rural appraisal business in Ohio and served as the President of the Ohio Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers Association. He was also very active in Rotary.
In 1968 he built a cabin on Lake Norris and has resided in Tennessee for over 30 years. He was a founding member of the local Habitat for Humanity Organization and served as its treasurer for 13 years, building over 30 homes in Lafollette and Campbell County. He was also an active volunteer at the OLPH Church and helped maintain the Appalachian Trail.
Jack was married to Elizabeth Bell in 1950 until her death in 1987. In 1994 he married Alma Lou Lauvray in Lafollette and they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Jack is survived by his son J.C. and his wife Linda and their children Trevor, Jack, Erin, Sean, Jamie and Drew, his son Charles and his children William and Alex and his daughter Ann Hill and her husband Steve and their children Kristen, Tamara and Brittany.
Jack is survived by his wonderful wife Alma Lou and her son Mike and his wife Cindy and their son Chris and wife Dana and their three children, her daughter Diane and her husband Dennis and their daughter Sarah and her other daughter Linda and husband Dave and their children Austin and Cody.
