Curtis Raymond Lindsay, age 89, of Caryville, TN passed away November 27, 2019 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama, after a short illness.  He was born September 23, 1930, in Lake City, TN.

Curtis was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church of Jacksboro, Tennessee.  Before retiring, he worked in the aerospace industry in Huntsville Alabama, and was involved in development and testing for the Apollo program.  He loved playing with the kids, and loved watching ball games, Looney Tunes, and Gaither videos.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Walter Lindsay and Bertha Isbell, and two of his sons, Edward Ray Lindsay and Richard Curtis Lindsay, as well as several of his siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Earnestine McCartt Lindsay, and his sister, Eleanor Irene Lindsay McCartt; also his children Debbie Metcalf (Mylon), of Union Grove, AL, Jeff Lindsay of Nashville, TN, Joe Lindsay of Huntsville, AL, Jim Lindsay (Rosie) of Decatur, AL, and Katy Sullivan (Aidan) of Huntsville, AL.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 4:00 – 6:00 pm, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Rocky Top, TN, with the funeral immediately following. Rev. Ron Williams and Rev. Mylon Metcalf will officiate. Burial will be at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Highway 168, Knoxville TN.
